Hope all have had a good year! We have had a blessed year! We have had good times and hard times, but God has been there with us and for us. We serve a wonderful God!
We are in several places—there are still so many communities to be reached. This year we have seen God working in the lives of the members and bringing new people to know Him as Savior. Seeing the old members growing and reaching out to the people around them has been a real blessing.
We now have Sunday school at three of the churches. Kathy and I have been helping in two of the places. We are training the group from the mission in Iranduba. They are coming along and excited. The mission of Multirão already has a team that goes there. They are doing great and investing there with the people and the building. What a blessing! Now we are training and new team to go to the community of Limão (lemon). There is a great need for a church there. We are praying God will give us a man that will go. We will go in the beginning while they are being trained. Pray that God will raise up the right person.
We really need a building in the community where Kathy has the kids club. We run an average of 45 kids. That’s about all we can handle on the patio of the house. God has provided a church that will come and build, we just need to buy the land. A few days ago, Kathy found out that there are 2 lots that are being sold not far from the house where we have club. We have used this family’s home for over 2 years. We really are thankful, but we need our own place. Please pray that God will provide the money we need. From time to time we have different kinds of festivals to reach out to new people in the communities, so they can see who we are and so that we can meet them. This month we are having one and all the missions are going to come. We are excited and looking forward to what God has for us.
We would love to reach out more and more. We are praying that God will raise up more people that want to serve, and our other great need is a good car. We spend lots of time in the car. The mother church is close, but all others are at least 30 minutes away.
Thanks for your prayers and your gifts, God bless each of you!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Greetings! Hope and pray that all of you are well and being blessed! We are doing great and have been blessed. Last month our 2 daughters and their families came to visit us. We had a great time with our children and grandchildren.
The ministry is doing really great. We have had several saved. One of the people who was saved is a man who lives in a community near the church. Two weeks ago, he asked me if it would be possible to visit the village and bring people on the bus. He said, “I worry about the children that live in the community. The name of this community is Lago do Limao, (Lemon Lake). Please pray for this community. We are planning on starting a work there.
This month we have had several special programs. In October there is a day called Children’s Day. What was really great is that many mothers come with their children. We have a service and then special activities for the kids. The mission in the community of Multirão is doing great and the people who work there are really excited and involved. The bus went and picked up the people from the community of Ubim for the Children’s Day program. We had 60 to come. Several mothers came with their children.
The mission in the city of Iranduba has had an increase and most exciting is that the older members are growing spiritually. They have had growing desire to serve the Lord and are excited about serving.
In communities all around us there are so many children and young people. They need to be reached with and taught about the Lord. In these places the drugs are everywhere. Please pray for us as we reach out to these places–that God give us the wisdom and means. Thanks for your faithful prayers and financial support.
God bless each of you.
Love in our Lord and Savior,

Ministries Thriving in Multiple Communities

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We praise God for each of you. We pray all is well with each church and each family. We are doing great. God has blessed the work and protected us each day.
The ministries are doing well and growing. The mission in the community of Multirão is doing great and growing. We have a group of 3 couples that work there. They had never done this kind of church ministry. It is exciting to them working and the work growing. The work had lots of children and now the parents are coming! So exciting to see God at work!
The work where Kathy has a club is growing. We were praying about finding a place to buy or build. They use a family’s porch, and the space is getting small. We have an average of 50. Well last month, talking to a friend, he mentioned that his church in the USA wanted to build another church, and would I know who needed one!? I gladly said I do know someone, my wife and I! “Well,” he said, “please send me some pictures of the work there and I’ll send them to my church.” Well they have already given us an answer. All we need to do is buy the land. We have a little house in the city near us that we are trying to sell. Pray that it will sell!
The work at the mother church is growing. And each day, more of the members are getting involved. This Saturday we are having a festival to bring people from the communities near us to visit the church. We live in an area that is like farmland. People live scattered out. Also, many people do not have transportation. Since we have a bus, we pick up people for church.
All our work requires us to drive a lot each week. Therefore, we have a need for good transportation. We drive approximately 200 miles a week just going to church services. Please pray that God will provide the finances so we can get newer transportation.
Thanks for your love, support and your prayers! God bless each of you!

Mothers Honored, Men Helping, Training Musicians

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Well this past month was May, “Mother’s Day Month”. Maybe to most of you it is just a normal day. To me, it is a very special day and I like to celebrate this day with the mothers and their children in our church. I grew up never seeing my mother. She died when I was two years old. I did not have a mother to teach me everyday things, about God, or how to pray. Most of you did have your mother present in your life. So many times we take it for granted. For me it is great to have a special day for the mothers and their children, and this year was not different. How many of you have a special dish that only your mother can fix in a special way? And maybe in a special way only for you?
We planned a day with the mothers on a boat ride. We asked the mothers if they would like that and they all agreed. The mothers could take all their children. We had mothers that had the opportunity to take their children that had not even been to church before. That was great. All the fathers and children helped get the food ready. All the mothers had to do was enjoy themselves and relax. God gave us a beautiful great day.
We have been blessed with men who have started helping with the preaching. That really helps us because Kathy and I only have one day of the week free. We have so many communities that need to be reached, but we cannot do it alone. We have four men who have been helping. Please pray for them: Francisco, Raimundo, Divino, and Ivan. We are planning an evangelistic service in a community nearby. The mother church and the two other mission points are working together to make it a great evening. Pray for us as we reach out to this community of Lake Limao (lemon).
The works are going well and we have had people who have made decisions. We need to get a place in the community of Ubim as soon as possible. The land at this place is not expensive. Ten thousand dollars would get what we need. The work is really growing. We don’t even do visitation to bring more people because the space we use is small. The family that graciously lets us use their porch are not even saved.
The church that I pastor is growing and we are adding on to the building to have classrooms and an area for fellowship. We also have a group of ten learning how to play piano. We can use more musicians–that’s for sure. We are excited! The oldest one learning is 50 years old and the youngest is 5 years old.
We want to thank each of you that pray and support our ministry. May God richly bless each of you and your lives.
In Christ,
Odali and Kathy

A Day of Worship & Fellowship!

Dear Brother and Sisters,
We praise God for each of you and pray all is well with each of you. Thank you for your love, prayers and support! You are an important part of our ministry.
Things are doing great here. God has blessed the ministry. We have had many visitors coming. Most of them have been reached through the youth ministry. Our house is always filled with youth. On weekends, we have several that come and stay and during the week many come to play volleyball. Since most of them come from homes that are not saved, they enjoy being here at our house with other kids from church. It is a blessing to see them grow each day. Pray for them and for us that we can continue to help them grow spiritually each day. Next month the youth are going to have a special supper for their parents. The idea is to bring their parents to visit the church in an informal way, to see where their children are coming and what they do.
The last Sunday of the month we had a special day. When we have baptism, we make it an all-day celebration. We gather all the mission points and start the day at 9:00 am and go to 4:00 pm. We eat, have fellowship time, then eat lunch, then have service and baptism. Then we fellowship some more. It is a great day. Since the missions are not close to each other, we make baptism day a very special day. This time we had 7 baptized and after the service, 3 received Jesus as Savior. What a wonderful and blessed day!
In Christ,
Odali and Kathy

In the Height of Ministry 30 Years Later

February 21, 2017
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We pray and hope that all have been blessed and are rejoicing in God’s care over each one of us. We have been doing great. It is hard to believe February is just about over. Kathy and I have been in the ministry for over 36 years and missionaries for 30 years. It is hard to believe that much time has gone by. Nearing the age of 60, I believe we are in the height of our ministry. We completed 3 years living back in the Amazon. We have been blessed and truly enjoy our ministry here. At this moment, we have one night free during the week. All the other days, we have some kind of ministry going on and on Sundays we have 3 services. We are really excited and thankful for what God is doing.
Our newest community where we are working, is Açutuba. What has been so wonderful is that God has placed people in our ministry that have opened the doors of their home to be used for reaching people. We started 4 weeks ago in this place. This week we had 22 that attended. What a wonderful blessing.
Not long ago a young man came to our services at the Living Rocks Baptist Church (Igreja Batista Pedras Vivas) and has been coming every week since. This week he told me that he had invited some young people from his community to come. He had 8 visitors and asked if someone could pick them up. Here it’s like living in farm country—people live far away and not everyone has cars. So, we help with transportation for those who need it.
The youth groups are doing great and growing. Kathy and I work with the youth in the city of Iranduba, where we have a mission. It is doing well and growing. This is the only mission that’s really in a small city. Inside the city limits there are probably a population of 20,000 people. This city is about 30 minutes away from our home. We have services there 3 times a week.
At the community of Ubim we are really needing a bigger place. We are meeting on the patio of a house that a family has opened for us to use. We are running an average of 45 kids from ages 1½ years old to 15 years old. We would like to be able to work with this group the best we can. Please pray that God will give us a larger place to work.
We still have 2 children at home with us. They both help in the ministry. Jonas has been great in helping with the children on Sunday mornings and with the youth, and Gabriel with the church band. They have been a great help to me while Kathy is in the US visiting her parents and our other children. We’re thankful that God has used all our children in many different ministries.
THE GREATEST THING YOU CAN DO FOR A PERSON IS THE INVEST IN THEIR LIFE. FROM KNOWING THE LORD AS SAVIOR AND GROWING IS WISDOM FROM GOD! We thank God for calling us to invest in people’s lives day by day—an investment like no other. It will last for eternity. This has been our life and our ministry. May God Continue to guide and bless us each day. We thank each one of you for your love, prayers and support. God bless y’all.

Praying for New Meeting Places in Ubim & Iranduba

December 30, 2016
Hope all of you have had wonderful holiday season. We have had a great and busy time.
At the main church, Pedras Vivas, things are doing great. We have been working with members of the church that have been there for a long time, to get them involved in ministries and to reach out to the lost. The church has a bus which has started running in the community where we live and in two new communities past the church. These communities are actually big enough to have a mission. We are limited with workers so for now we will continue to bring them on the bus. Our church has built an addition on to the church building for classes fellowship and also put in air conditioning.
The ministry in the community of Ubim is doing really wonderful. It has grown and the area we work in has reached its limit. We use a patio that a family lets us use, but we have so many small children coming that we need room to work with them so we can better work with the older people. We are asking God to provide a new place. Many teens are coming and need to be worked with to reach them. There is not much in this community for them to do, but there are a lot of bad things as an option. Pray with us that God would show us a place.
At the Iranduba mission we did a special emphasis in reaching out to the youth. The city has so many young people. Prostitution and drugs are very strong there. We hope that this coming year they will continue to reach out to friends. We also are looking for another building there. The building is rented, does not offer options, and is small.
The mission at Multirao community is doing great. We have a team that is working there. They are having four services a week. They are doing well—they have meetings and are making new plans for next year. They are making plans to build a wall around the building. There was a banana tree in the back and someone stole it—can you believe that? Well that wasn’t all…they stole the toilets out of the bathrooms. They didn’t get into the church because there are iron bars on the door and windows. Pray for this team that God will bless them.
We want to thank each of you who have prayed for us and our ministry and have given so faithfully. We appreciate and love each of you. God bless you tremendously.

Reaching Out to Youth & Training New Workers

September 30, 2016
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We pray that all of you are well and enjoying blessings from our Lord and Savior. We are doing great and enjoying blessings from our Lord in our lives and ministry.
We have been saving an outreach for youth in the 3 communities where we have churches. The purpose is to reach new youth and also train new workers. We will have a total of 8 weeks, then we will leave the workers in these churches and go to new communities. We have had around 100 new visitors, plus the ones who belong to the churches. Although we live far from the city and with little commodities, it is unreal how much drugs are in these communities. Contact with these youth has reminded us so much of the Alpha & Omega Home. So, we are working in these churches with teens with the same needs. Pray for them and for the leaders as they reach out to them. There has been several saved. We are going to plan a baptismal service and a time of fellowship.
The mission we have at Ubim is going well. We are praying for God to show us a place to buy to build a mission. We have service on the porch of a couple’s home. It is getting a little hard to work with the group. We have a large range in ages. Pray with us that God will show us the perfect place. Kathy is training 5 of our youth to work with kids. It has been great to see them get involved.
We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. God bless each of you.
These are pictures of the youth program Odali & Kathy are having in three communities: Iranduba, Mutirão, and the mother church Pedras Vivas. They have planned eight weeks of reaching out to lost youth and training new leaders.
