Dear friends and family,

As this is the middle of our semester, our students are very active. In the two classes being held this semester we have 24. There are 15 students in our first class on Tuesday night and 9 students in the second class on Thursday night. There are also six students enrolled in the PhD program, bringing the semester total to 30 students. AWESOME is the God we serve.

One of our Professors who has been on a year sabbatical (due to the loss of his wife) In this year has sold his home in Bastrop, Texas and has moved to live in Fort Worth, Texas to be with family. His absence has really set back the seminary as he is the Greek and Hebrew language professor and expert on the Old Testament. His personal experience and education obtained at Jerusalem University along with the 7+ years residing there are AWESOME for our Seminary students. His teaching makes the Old Testament come to life.

He and his family have decided that it is not in his best interest for him to travel back to Brazil in June and July with myself and Dr. Derek as the travel to the various conferences will be too much for him.

Speaking of our travels, we will be in the Northen regions of Brazil, specifically in the State of Rondonia and in the Capital City of Puerto Velha. We will be meeting with several pastors, preaching, and telling about Blue Grass Baptist Seminary! We will also be in Goiania Gaia’s with the Bible Baptist of Brazil at their bi-annual conference. Pastor Marcos da Silva is their President and is an avid sponsor of the Seminary. He is the pastor of the new church in São Paulo and is going to dedicate an area (a lecture hall) for the Seminary where we can use for local Seminary classes.

As we are getting more students from outside of São Paulo State and other countries, we are having some problems with our graduations.

Lots of our students and pastors have to come a long way to be able to participate in the graduation ceremony. So, we have been thinking about trying to do a virtual graduation. Pray that we can put all the necessary things together to pull all this off! As we now have all virtual classes, why not a virtual GRADUATION?!!!

On of our doctoral students has been having medical problems and we would love to have him as a professor (future professor). Pray for his health, his name is Pastor Dutra. He is also a part of Pastor Marcos’ Church in São Paulo. Pastor Marcos is our Church History professor, and our thinking, planning, and praying is to help these Doctoral students move in, move up, and start teaching in Blue Grass Baptist Seminary. OUR DREAM: BRAZILIANS teaching, training, and reaching Brazil for Christ.

Pray for the Seminary and students (pastors + church leaders) as they are and will be the future of the churches of Brazil.

Pray for Seminary—Professors—translators— students—administrators and for God’s will—BFM.
